Daily Recipe Find – Broccoli Gnocchi

I don’t like to waste any food, I have found many uses for leftover odd parts of vegetables, mostly in making stock.  Although, broccoli stems are something I have never found much for, I just cook them down, serve them up with the florets, eat them first, leaving the good parts for last.  Well, the stems now will have a tasty purpose.  This recipe does take some time and planning, but wow.. gnocchi with broccoli stems instead of potatoes with a lemon cream sauce.

Daily Recipe Find – Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Soup time… this sounds really good, and the roasted vegetables add another layer of flavor.  Also, I admit I had to look up what Stilton was.  It is from England, a blue cheese.  So if you can’t find that locally you can substitute a blue cheese that will crumble good.  Or, if you don’t like blue cheese I think a smokey cheese would also be good in this.

The recipe is in grams, so if you don’t have that all in your head, here is a converter I found.   Conversion Calculator

Daily Recipe Find – Mulligan Stew

The colder weather is around the corner for us, for some it has arrived.   A hearty stew is always tasty as the cold weather hits.

#2 Shrimp Lover – tempura shrimp, purple cabbage, pickled daikon, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, avocado, spicy mayo and sriracha.
I did get the sriracha on the side since I wanted a little extra spice over the spicy mayo, but not overwhelming spice.  It worked out great for me.  If you are a spice lover, let them put the sriracha on it and wrap it up.

These are very big rolls, the vegetables all had good flavor and fresh, and the shrimp was nice and crispy.

The rest of our Sushi Burrito adventure will be up Monday October 3rd…
