Cedar City Food Review, Group Gathering
Brick House Cafe
86 S. Main St. Cedar City, UT 84720
Our monthly gathering for our food review group for
March was at Brick House Cafe.
This was my first time there and I was very happy with it. Especially since I have now had their cuban sandwich. Their description on the menu of, “grill pressed to perfection” is true in my opinion. I have been missing them since we moved here. They have so many other items on the menu I want to try, I may just have to cure my cuban sandwich craving a few more times before I venture to other items. Although I am afraid that will lead to more cravings. Not really a bad thing when there are so many good choices. It just makes it hard to pick what to order.
Thanks to Vicki for setting up the gathering and to those that were able to make it. For those going to the evening gathering tonight after work or school, enjoy!
Thank you to Brick House Cafe for having us!
A favorite choice for those this morning was
The Count of Fonty Cristo: Turkey, ham, swiss cheeses on french toast with raspberry jalapeño jam. The choice of side are fries, kettle chips, coleslaw or potato salad. The sweet potato fries are available for extra charge, and I have to say they are worth it.
Sweet Potato Fries: Tasty and smooth with caramel dipping sauce. Something I probably wouldn’t have picked on my own. Vicki recommended them, so I had to try. They are very good. A light crisp on the outside, then add the caramel dipping sauce, this could easily just be dessert.
Cheeseburger and Fries: The burgers 1/3 lb chuck and sirloin ground fresh. Normally cooked medium, although you can order them cooked how you like them. They also have an option of black bean burger if you don’t want meat.
Black & Bleu Burger: with blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles.
Pulled Turkey Breast: Layered with provolone cheese, leaf lettuce and tomato with blue cheese sauce or mayo and raspberry jalapeño or cranberry on focaccia.
The Cuban: Pork, ham, swiss cheese, bread & butter pickles on a french roll with mayo/mustard sauce grill-pressed. This was my choice, I had several items I wanted to try, the Fonty Cristo for one, but I narrowed it down to this since I miss them so much. I was not disappointed.
Craft Your Own Burger: Pick how many burger patty’s you want, cheese or not, and add the toppings you want for additional charges. Several add on options to pick from: gluten free bun, jalapeños, bacon, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, fried egg, slice of ham, side of pickles, blue cheese, pulled pork and pastrami.
My son ordered this one. He picked single hamburger with bacon and fried egg.
And of course there is dessert.
Pies – Chocolate satin, peanut butter, cream or razzleberry.
Cheesecake with chocolate, caramel or berry topping.
Carrot cake or flourless chocolate cake.
And what we opted for,
The Cookie Sunday. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauce, whipped cream.
Stop by Brick House Cafe and enjoy the food fun!
